Surfing and sport fishing in Panama are standout activities that people travel across the globe to experience. Perhaps less well known, but of equal caliber, are hiking and diving.

Also an activity, but of a more serine nature, is birding.  Bird watching just doesn't get much better than what Panama has to offer.  Again, another "best on earth" claim that Panama can make.  Also in the relaxing category is general sight seeing.  From the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal to the esthetically beautiful Spanish architecture, Panama has more destinations than one can fit into a single trip.

For the more cerebral, a historical tour of the country encompasses a vast majority of all that Panama has to offer.  Visit the Kuna, an indigenous people of Panama, who's autonomy has kept intact an agricultural and fishing economy even into the 21st century.

…and for everyone, the fiestas.  Festivals in Panama are the manifestation of its rich culture and background.  Carnival in Panama City and Las Tablas are world renowned.  Smaller and more intimate festivals occur around the calendar and throughout the country though.  There is sure to be one that is just your speed.
